Tokyo, Japan, April 9, 2013 — Senju Metal Industry Co., Ltd. has been recognized as one of eight companies receiving Intel Corporation’s prestigious Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award for their performance in 2012. Recognizing extraordinary commitment to quality and exceptional performance to Intel’s goals, this award is Intel’s highest honor for its suppliers acknowledging world-class, outstanding performance. Senju Metal Industry Co., Ltd. provided soldering material (solder sphere, flux, paste, bar, wire), deemed vital to Intel’s success.

“Senju is fully committed to strengthening our world-class quality organization,” said Yuji Kawamata, executive director of Senju Metal Industry Co., Ltd. “The Intel SCQI program, along with extensive action in CSR and GRI initiatives, enables us to reach ever more challenging goals. All Senju teams deeply appreciate Intel's SCQI Award recognition of these efforts.”

"Over the past 16 years as an Intel supplier, Senju’s contributions in the areas of Technology, Quality, and Environmental Social Governance while balancing cost initiatives have been quite significant. In recognition of these outstanding contributions, Intel would like to present Senju with the SCQI award for 2012 — its 9th such recognition. Given this track record, it is quite clear that Senju has demonstrated long term commitment to Intel and achieving “Best in Class” performance. Please accept my thanks and congratulations for yet another strong year on all fronts. We look forward to Senju’s continued support and innovation in 2013 and beyond," said  Jacklyn A. Sturm, Vice President, Technology Manufacturing Group, General Manager, Worldwide Materials, Intel Corporation.

The SCQI award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement program, which encourages Intel’s key suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for SCQI status, suppliers must score at least 95 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, technology, environmental, social and governance goals. Suppliers must also achieve 90 percent or greater on a challenging improvement plan and demonstrate solid quality and business systems.
